This is one of the best ideas I've seen for a while;

Bingo! Ottawa! Canada's Capitol City! What better way to light a fire under the conditional franchise? The Ottawa Rough Riders would not be contenders by then but they might have a team. Lansdowne Live! would be a perfect, brand new setting for the 100th Grey Cup and NOT having the home team in the Game would guarantee a Coast to Coast celebration. I love it. Marc Cohon, get on this great idea please? :thup: :rockin:
This is old news and it ain't gonna happen. Toronto was awarded the 100th Grey Cup a looooonnnnng time ago and this subject has been discussed extensively on this forum. There's no way the CFL was going to put that game anywhere other than the media centre of Canada.
I want a team in Ottawa with local owners so bad. But to even suggest they would get the 100th Grey Cup after all this schmoozing to the MLS over the past while is simply ludicrous unless they built a stadium that was so unreal the CFL had no choice. And that is not going to happen.
When I went to the Grey Cup in Toronto 2 GC's ago this was already common knowledge, surprised not everyone knows about it. :rockin:
Couldn't have said it better Earl....... I too want that nineth team in Ottawa, but........
It is not common knowledge but it is a common asumption
I'm not even sure why this site would even speculate. Ottawa was awarded the 2014 Grey Cup if they can get the franchise up and running. The likelihood of hosting two Grey Cups so close to one another is basically nil nowadays.
Cripes, I'm as biased as anyone can be about football here and even if the 2014 one wasn't going to Ottawa, I still would not put the 100th one here.
