do or die

Back from some time in Indonesia......so.

Tough conditions:  cold, frozen field, blowing cold.......
Buckley telegraphs a Persian like toss on out route......
....Alexander the Great steps in front....makes the pick.....for 55 yd TD.
LeFevour not looking comfortable in the pocket.......
Stamps going for 3rd and 1.....but Buckley runs it sideways again....
.....loses yardage and turns it over....
Dressler hung out to dry by the Fever....and gets pounded.....
Bomber run D looking pretty good, and popping Messam.....
Terrible snap by Goossen, loses the Blue 30 yards.....
Both backups on O....not looking real good.....
Buckley scrambles and hits wide open R for long TD....
....but it is called back for holding.....
Blue D-Line really bringing the pressure... with base rush package....
Dan does not look like the man:  late throws with nothing on them.
Harris catches his 103rd pass.....new CFL record for running backs......
Medlock lines up for tough 52 yd FG attempt......under these conditions.
.....and bounces it in off the goalpost.    Bombers up 10-0.
Bomber D still getting pressure and the stops......
Couple big runs by Harris gets him over the 1000 mark.......well done!
Medlock short FG makes it 13-zip.....
Messam has ball punched out......Fogg recovers.....sets up Medlock again.
If we had any kind of O.....this one would be over early.....
Dressler takes another short pass and big hit.....
....Lapo sticking with non-existent pass game....for some reason or other.
Stamps keep a drive alive with a nice fake punt......
But Buckley is blindsided by Wild.....Opogo reaches down, picks it up.....
....and rumbles 65 yds, down the sideline for another defensive TD
23-0.  Half time.  Buckley's Mixture looks bad:   and is no good.
Wild gasses tackle on short pass for big Stamp gain......
...however Poop travels downhill and gets the sack on Stamp 3rd down play.
Bomber DL completely winning the battle of the trenches, in this one.
This Santos Knox kid is a playa.......
Buckley now limping  badly.....like the Stamps O, in general.....
Nevis looking like a wall in China, tonight....
Harris fumbles and Stamps drive down deep......until...
.....Opogo and Jeffcoat meet Buckley deep in the backfield.....
Not sure either of those guys have been blocked all nite.......
Stamps wisely decide to attempt the FG this time....breaks goose egg.
Waiting for Bomber O to actually do something......other than 2 and outs...
Opogo gets another sack .  No off switch on his motor.....
Bomber O still in prevent mode.  DLF is an insult to noodle arms, everywhere.
Hell, you can time those off target passes, with a sundial.......
Stamps finally had enough of Buckley the Black Knight.....and bring in Stanzi at QB.
....who promply throws a pass right to Santos Knox for Stamp turnover no. 6.
Just one good drive on O will wrap this thing up........just one.
Of course, right on que.....  LaFevour rolls out and fumbles the ball away.......
Fortunately the Wizard of Opo, gets ANOTHER sack.....his 3rd......
Very next play.....Jeffcoat tries to catch up with his own sack.....
Stamp O-line is literaly getting eaten alive.
Bomber O goes two and out yet again on a couple of PASS attempts....
......what is with Lapo and the play calling,  in this one?
Stanzi having about the same success as Buckley at the pivot.....
....as he throws a  special delvery right into Fogg's hands......
Some tough running by Flanders to kill the clock.....
Jeffcoat provides an appropriate finish with yet another sack...
23-5.   7 turnovers and 7 sacks......by the D.
Just as well......Bomber O was pretty bad tonight.....
I will take the 2nd place finish, home playoff game......
.....and all the gin, I can get.....
Most people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so."

Good synopsis as usual do or die.It was an ugly one but a win is a win. There is probably no one praying for Nichols return more than the Bombers receivers for their own health and well being.Yikes that is one ugly looking ball.Harris is a beast plain and simple.

If Mercury Matt Nichols is down for the count I'd have normally given the bombers less than a 2% chance at beating the Esks.

However, with 15,000+ raving lunatics (maybe 20,000 if Wadzilla doesn't run out of paper) the bombers defense might be able to hold Reilly Vyrus to under 22 points.

However, with whatever combo plate of Dandy Dan & Donkey Davis the bombers will no doubt have to rely on at least 10-13 pts off turnovers - and perhaps one gimp-armed drive loaded with a trick play (or two).

Bad weather conditions obviously favour the bombers - anything to impair the Edmonton Superman Reilly and limit Esky points.

Finally, Matlock prolly gonna have to cobble together a 6 for 7 day, if not perfect.
WAITING FOR A  MIRACLE - 28 YEARS, COUNTING!

You certainly do have a fixation on Reilly. You give every other person a demeaning nickname except for him. Hmmmm..... Maybe you should be doing your anti-cheering for the Esks instead.

Dan - you still learning how to read like Rod Black? Just kiddin', son! If you read the thing over a few times you might notice I slipped in a couple for Reilly.
Reilly Vyrus
Mad-Hatter
He's also the best QB in the league, despite what Mr. Dink 'n Dunk fans say (aka Ricky Ray)
Reilly also achieved the record for most yards by an Edmonton QB in one season, surpassing a couple of legendary men.
Reilly vs. Dan Laugher or Dom Davis is a veritable no-contest.
Even Winnipeg defense bringing their A game may not be enough to snuff out Reilly.

Nichols at 100%, home crowd over 23,000, defense bringing A game - Reilly putting out a B+ or less game - Bombers certainly have a chance! Edmonton defense is almost as sad as ours!

You certainly do have a fixation on Reilly.

Reilly was good but not any Superman in the last game. If not for the dumb penalties that Sask took, it would have been a much closer game. Those penalties aided Edm in their drives. Reilly still carried the rock three times himself instead of passing for TDs. I agree, get it done anyway but that does not show dominance. It shows that the Sask D was worrisome to Reilly, that is till they decided to play stupid.

AND, nobody can possibly learn to read like Rod Black.

You say every team is going to thrash the Bombers. You've been wrong more times than right, just this year alone. ;D

Wumper

OK!! Prognostications.....

Cold in The Peg, a suggestion it may warm to minus four for game time.

Wad doing everything he can to fill the barn, even NO Shea talking up he needs a crowd.

I'm not a Doc but I suspect Bombers fav, "Doc Mad Mike", will find the right solution to let our
numero uno QB make it to game time. The questions are will the solution be 5, 6, or 7% and will it last past 3/4's??

Bombers go up early, Esk's storm back, is there a hero on the Bomber's D to snatch that late game turnover?

I think yes. Medlock ice's it.

My pro-line is down.
Redblacks win and under, Bombers win and over.

NOS wears sweats for the game, shorts to the post game interview.
