Henoc is in the process of squeezing every last dime he can from Wad's piggy-bank. He knows CFL salaries are only guaranteed by the amount of the pre-paid signing bonus, that's all.

After that, he's vulnerable!

He also knows the Bombers have virtually bupkiss at the MLB position - so he smells the desperation in the team - - - - - although the form chart on basic negotiations state you're never supposed to show you're either a. desperate or b. needy
WAITING FOR A  MIRACLE - 28 YEARS, COUNTING!

Would think both sides know the number that goes on the contract and it is all about the signing bonus at this point. The one we will never know the details of. Agree that Henoc knows the Bombers have nothing in their hand and the agent is working the pot.

No deal so far suggests the games are still being played. HM knows he will be playing somewhere. I could see BC being a wild card and also believe that the Bombers will need to match Montreal to get it done. Mercenaries go for top coin.

If nothing else keeping the Bombers in the news. Better drama than the Olympics imo.

.....I would agree joe, that the Leo's might be a fly in the ointment, seeing as his brother is a member of that club, BUT If I know Wally, he's keeping the door open for Bighill, so that could kill any notion of Henoc going there... Solly and Bighill....no need for anyone else...Montreal can drive the price up BUT Muamba and his agent aren't dumb by any means...They are not a post season team...matter of fact they'll be lucky to be a regular season team by the look of them presently...Some very dubious moves being made there...which leads me to believe Muamba will pass up on their offer but use it as a card to lever more cash from us..I would say we'll try to sign him until it becomes ridiculous and then walk if the money doesn't make sense...These negotiations are definitely keeping us and the CFL in the news...I think it's time for them to quit milking it ;D
...one of the most integral parts overlooked in conversation....is to hear what\'s NOT being said....Anonymous

It's Winnipeg and Montreal.
Henoc's agent knows there probably won't be the post season loot in Montreal, he also knows any deal there that includes bonuses probably will never be seen.
This is poker, Walters holds a winner, Henoc is slow playing it and has bluffed before.

Henoc blinks.

WAD holding Walter's promissory note, wondering what the Bored is thinking.....then he remembers they aren't and so he tells Kyle, "we're all in".

WAD memo to Bored...."found new French merlot for the box this season, looking good"

.....Boredom to Wad....'you know what you can do with that plonk'...we'd rather have a shot of your healthy way drink...and by the way peddle some more tix, we hear we're finally getting a MLB...unlike that fraud from 17'

Same as how I see it. Laissez-faire at it's finest.

Too busy with their other important jobs that matter like driving downtown biz. It is surely a wonderful life.

Major area of concern imo.

Seems Okpalaugo is under the gun because of his contract. Hard to say Nevis is better.

Nichols at over $400,000 leaves less for others. Demski at $185,000 all in is a lot.

Credit to the boys for making it work with the current sms. No point in stopping half way though.

Not sounding like good news with Euclid Cummings.

Sucks that the Bombers are part of the story.

Henoc, Henoc, Henoc..........
Sign in Montreal, better get it up front (all of it) because those folks (as you would know better than most), will release you rather than honour you.
The WBBFC has a far better chance of delivering playoff loot, semi, final and Grey Can, than Montreal does.
Winning is more fun.
Winning in front of double the size crowds is even more fun.
Stability is good, stability in the CFL is really good and a bit rare.
And, remember when you were here last and wanted a chance to go south, well we let you go.
The other teams you've played for just rolled you over.

Mitigate your risk, respect the only place that's shown you honour, sign in Winnipeg.

Not about honour - Henoc (and his family) have become super CFL skroungers - they're after top $$$, don't care that much about long-term guarantees - but care greatly about signing and interim bonuses! Bombers don't want to pre-pay such a personality for two years without a hint of game action.

We wined and dined him and his family the first time around and he fled..We have recently wined and dined him and he seems like he's hedging his bets....Reed in Mont. is most likely throwing a bunch of money at him and a few buckets of poutine to get him on board there...that and trying to play the geographical card being close to family...Seems nothing is working for either party who are vying for his services....Maybe there's a third party throwing a wrench into the works,...who knows....Does seem a tad long to come to a decision on where you want to hang your helmet this season...If we're not close with the money then I think we might have lost favour in Henoc's eyes and he'll sign with a dumpster fire as long as the dough is right....I hope we hear something soon....all of this speculation is wearing thin and you'd think we would hear something....at least before tc

joe

Surprised no one is talking about Ottawa. Seem to have a spot open.

joe

Guys over on Argofans still think Greenwood has value. Upgrade from Hurl imo. Agree he has been hurt but so have Wild and Leggett among others.

They also have Plessius rated highly. Could see him being a good add as a special teams / Tony Burnett style guy and a potential 2019 starter with a year of learning the system. Nationals with 4 years in are generally good things.

Not expecting anything soon but hopeful they will do something.
