2016 Season Transactions

DE Martin Wright has been released.

Sounds like Kanneh, Gillanders and Tristan are about to return. Harris might not even dress.

Gavins is now showing on the 6-game. I thought he was on the 1-game but I could be wrong about that.

I *think* Travon Van is back at practice.

Van was practicing this week, saw a clip of him running at what looked like full speed. Van, Gillanders, LaFrance, Grigsby - all kinds of options at tailback now. Personally, I'd like to see LaFrance get more play time.
Coach Campbell said Gavins will likely be a few more weeks in an interview with Team1200.
Whiteside also showing on the 1-game list after not playing last week.

Van must be doing well!

RELEASED international running back Nic Grigsby (Arizona)

They feel good about handing off to Gillanders too if they need to, so I guess. It's not like Grisby was particularly explosive. Appreciate the effort though.

Wow, that's a little surprising. I appreciate what he was able to do for us, I wish him well. I guess LaFrance will get the starting job on Friday?

With Van coming back and LaFrance and Gillanders starting, there was no reason to keep Grigsby.

Tim Baines
Kienan LaFrance will start for #Redblacks at RB this week. Backed up by Brendan Gillanders. Ratio issue reason for release of Nic Grigsby.

Neither is exactly proven, but Grigsby hasn't been a difference maker anyway. We also have Mossis Madu on the PS who seems to be completely forgotten.

Final decision not made yet, but #Redblacks may leave QB Trevor Harris on injured list for one more week. #CFL

#Ottawa #Redblacks will leave Travon Van on injured list for one more week. Expect him to return next week. #CFL

Big chance for LaFrance to show what he can do

Kalonji Kashama has been released by Saskatchewan. There was a time when those guys could have fielded an All-Ottawa defensive line and now most of this guys are gone. Shawn Lemon was traded quickly, Jonathan Williams was let go some time ago, Capicciotti was demoted last week.

REDBLACKS have been brining in lots of linebackers lately. Not happy with production from that group maybe?

OTT DEL INT David HINDS (LB) Florida Atlantic

OTT DEL INT Aaron KARLEN (DE) Wisconsin Whitewater

Man, Hinds...That's pretty harsh. Maybe I just didn't see it, but I didn't think he was playing badly. You can still give Boyett some time and keep Hinds as depth.

They promoted Burton De Koning from the PR too, so I guess Hinds got beat out twice.

Yeah that is a little harsh indeed. Lots of moves happening today. Apparently Moore has been moved to the PR as well.
