Paden signs with Argos

No great loss, he showed promise in the first year, then he was injured and then when he returned suffered from fumbleitis. I predict that the Argos will release him.

Feb 16th
OTT ADD NAT Pascal LOCHARD (RB) Laval

Feb 22nd
OTT ADD NAT Scott MACDONELL (WR) Queen’s
OTT ADD INT Darius HAMMOND (RB) Charleston Southern
OTT ADD INT Michael WAKEFIELD (DL) Florida International

And today:

SIGNED:
- International offensive lineman Eric Lofton (6-4, 300 lbs, Temple)
- International offensive lineman Ryan Schmidt (6-6, 320 lbs, St. Lawrence)

Wakefield highlights here. Not a strong position for Ottawa so he might have a shot there. One to watch.

March 1st:

SIGNED:
- International defensive back Albert Louis-Jean (6-1, 187 lbs, Boston College)

March 2nd:

SIGNED:
- International defensive back Javier Arenas (5-9, 197 lbs, Alabama)

Arenas is certainly interesting. 2nd round pick of the Chiefs in 2010

"On November 21, 2009, Javier broke Derek Abney's Southeastern Conference (SEC) record for career punt return touchdowns by returning his seventh punt return for a touchdown against the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Following his senior season, he was a first-team All-SEC selection and was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American."

Both interesting signings, former NFL CBs, probably playing hard to get another look down there.

Moton Hopkins re-signed, a popular guy in the community - good move. Hopefully, the injury bug is behind him.

Yeah, I wonder. I certainly don't dislike the guy but he's not one that'll get too many "wow" plays, is he?

He'll never be a double-digit sack guy but I think of him as the type that does the little things that you don't notice as much. Disrupt a short-yardage play or swat a ball down on 2nd and long.

Still, I find it odd how much they're struggling to improve that position.
