WOW! you guys need to calm down on Duval.... pretty harsh words about him being married with Smith's daughter, that's just plain wrong, it's starting to sound like a desperate housewives episode. He had great stats last year (didn't he get the record for most points scored in a season by a player?!?), a canon for a leg and while I'm at it, a badass hairdoo!!! the only thing going against him in my opinion, is a bad temper when playing Toronto (can you really blame him, he got more than his share of dirty hits last year). His kicking could be better this year but it's been 2 games... i feel we would be in a lot of trouble if we would lose him, think about it. Bottom line, we probably have the best kicker in the league with an attitude to go along anyways, we have bigger problems than Duval's kicking right now.

Duval just turned 30, he's got a 87% average, perfect on extra points and here is the list of his longest field goal game by game: 48-24-40-47-37-24-18-36-25-33-25-53-12-42-41-42-48 . He made the kick at the grey cup when the pressure was on him. also, i believe that luck is a factor for all position (to a certain extent) but he's still the best kicker we've have since Baker. Remember Kellett? The one eyed kicker, still can believe we got a first round pick from Ottawa for a kicker....

Wow ! Why would Duval be exempt from criticism for his poor play ?

After one of the worst kicking performance in good weather at a GC last year, where he shanked punts, missed two field goals, his kicking average this year is 60 percent So while he has had some great seasons in Montreal, he is one of the highest paid athletes on the team, he occupies an import slot and benefits from the best holder in the game. His performance in just about every phase of the game is so unreliable this team has no chance of repeating unless he get's it together or is replaced. That is pro sports.

Huh no he missed the kick during the Grey Cup but was lucky enough to get a second crack at it from the 33.

+1

His performance in and since the Grey Cup is unacceptable for a highly paid import kicker. He needs to right the ship now.

I certainly respect a guy who touches the ball 20 to 25 times a game and holds 3 jobs on the team but I think he would be the first to admit he's not happy with his play. What is concerning for me anyway is that he's struggling in all 3 phases of the game. So it is not the holder, it is not just correcting a mechanical component if if is its all of the above. I think he can get it together but like you say it needs to happen.

If you want to know what is going on with Duval go onto facebook and ask him, http://www.facebook.com/damon.duval

I speak to him often and he always answers back and candidly at that... A lot of the palyers are on it and you can chat with them as well, it's pretty cool!

Props to Jerald Brown for coming up with a clutch INT yet again and saving our bacon.

One thing I did like was that we were punishing Printers even when not sacking him. He was hurried, hit, and generally roughed up all night long. That's good to see. No QB likes to get hit and I think the cumulative effect of those hits took its toll on Printers as the night wore on. Even when he was completing passes by taking a hit, he started to one-hop those of his throws, not stepping into them because he could feel the rush coming.

The next step is to get more sacks and pressure up the middle in general. I'm tired of our DBs getting flagged repeatedly for PI because the pass rush can't get there in time.

Really ! I felt that was brutal officiating last night. Way too many "later" hits to both QB's...

Really? I thought it was refreshing to see the zebras letting the players play instead of throwing the red nylon every time a careening defensive end couldn't bring his own 300-pound body to a complete halt in a split second. ;)

At least they were consistent across both games. Pierce was getting drilled by Hamilton defenders without any roughing calls.
