The Als have re-signed Nat. LS Martin Bédard for 1 year; they also confirmed the signing of Nat. WR Devon Bailey, also for 1 year.

CB Ronald Tyler from Nicholls State posted that he will soon be a Montreal local & eventually become the Defensive Rookie of the Year in the CFL. Nothing wrong with self confidence, except that I found almost nothing about him other that he attempted to make an Indoor Football team earlier this year.

I have been wondering about Chris Ackie's place on the team this year. He was a notable signing in 2015 and played in a final game as DB against the RR's. He came across well and was active in defense rushes against the Regina QB yet I can't recall him playing in 2016 which was the season when several import DB's showed well. This will be his third season with the club. Any ideas?

Niagara does bring up a good point about Ackie. We certainly don`t want to see him turned into a wasted draft choice like Mike Edem or Andrew Lue.

Ackie did have 14 special team tackles last season but it`s time to find him a position. Will he be competing with Plesius and Boulay for the WIL LB spot?

I agree he would be suitable for safety, but Reed`s conversation with Coady indicated it will be an International position. So hard to determine Ackie`s ultimate fate at this time.

-Article in French saying Kavis Reed wants to trade into the 1st round

http://www.985sports.ca/football/nouvel ... 34932.html

-Didier Orméjuste: Kavis Reed said he spoke to teams in order to lay the groundwork about possibly trading up in the first round.

-Website roster has Greg Henderson changing his number from 35 to 22 and Wayne Moore from 39 to 24.

-Marquise Williams heading to the CFL???

-Article on DE Jake Payne stating he signed with the Als in December 2016 but was released shortly after when Kavis Reed took control.

Deslauriers saying the team is looking at receivers.

As far as the Als trading up, I don`t see much in the way of trade bait in players they can afford to give up who would interest other teams.

4 names come to mind: Chris Ackie, Jacob Ruby, Jake Piotrowski, Vernon Adams. That`s about it.
