If you go onto the TSN website, in his pre-draft player rankings from yesterday Duane Ford ranked Lavoie as No. 2 Fullback/Tight End. Only Luke Willson is ranked higher and I believe he is playing baseball in the Blue Jays system.

And all other Alouette picks are either ranked or mentioned as being "on the radar".

He can be broken in as Carter`s replacement and in the meantime contribute on special teams.

If Adebayo does not get signed after his NFL tryout with the Lions, he could be a real steal for the d-line.

It is hard to judge the other picks, time will tell, but Lance Milton and Keynan Parker appear to have good speed at DB.

I would have liked to see the Als take Charbonneau-Campeau at WR, but he apparently has trouble getting off jams at the line of scrimmage.

Good speed.... Parker is a world class sprinter. Runs a 10.9 100 meter dash, not so long ago that would have been an olympic medal. And he was a running back in high school. Ran out of size for the college game but if he puts on 5 to 10 pounds as a grown man we could convert him to different roles. I like that pick A LOT. Ryan White was one of the most promising olinesman in the CIS till he pulled the plug. So who knows what the Als know ? Very solid draft considering we did not have a top 10 pick. We drafted guys who can win a job this year or are futures and we don't risk losing them. Let's face it, there isn't a ton of room on this team with guys like Chima, Dublanko, Matte, Hecht, Ruttan, and Barrette in their second year.

Lavoie projects as a versatile Swiss Army Knife player who can line up at fullback, slotback, or even running back while contributing on special teams. Essentially, we drafted Kerry Carter's replacement, which is great.

You are right on. Jim as much as confirmed your point during an interview this afternoon.

He was also the special team gunner and captain the last two years.

Good to know I'm right once in a blue moon. :D

I trust Jim with our picks, he's no fool and we've had success pretty much every year in the draft barring the 2007 season when he was wearing too many hats.

Bo Adebayo was supposed to be attending the Detroit Lions mini-camp this weekend. But his name does not appear on the list of 17 players invited on the Lions website.

This is from Charles-Andre Marchand`s after draft story on Yahoo Quebec Sports. So it is possible Adebayo decided not to report to the Lions afterall. He should be close to signing, Darren Gill is his agent.

I also would expect McKnight to be close to signing as the Jets did not sign him.

Amazing news if true, to get both Adebayo and McKnight at this year's camp.

Herb tweeted Adebayo attended Lions mini-camp but wasn`t offered contract.

I do not see his name on the list of players invited on Lions website:

In any case good news for the Als.

Herb tweeted that he will be at rookie camp. Excellent new for the Als. Brody Mcknight sadly for him was not offered a contract in New York either so he should be in camp as well.

Sorry. Just using this Canadian thread to say thank you to another canadian Davis Sanchez who has announced his retirement. Met his brother at the concession stand at McMahon just prior to grey cup 2009 near section A. Glad we all shared that special moment together. Thanks for everything Davis.

Abedayo might be another Kenron Williams- both players in the 260-265 lb range are perhaps too small to be a defensive lineman in the NFL? Wms has made his mark in the CFL as a defensive lineman. Perhaps Abedayo will be our second Kenron? The interactions between Whyte and McKnight at training camp will be interesting to watch. I think most teams are set at the kick/punt situation which would rule out any trade advantage for our team.

I love the pick. Any guy who can run a 40 under 4.8 at 268 pounds can be a force in our league, you can draw up some pretty cool stunts with a guy like that Non import or import. To give you an idea that is a faster time than the Als frist pick Patrick Lavoie who's a "tight end".
