Third Upback

When did the third upback become the norm in punt formations? Everybody has 3 dudes there now it seems. Used to always be 2. I first noticed it With BC in the preseason, thought it was weird. Have I been just out to lunch or have all the ST coaches just decide to have 3 dudes this year?
We used to have Bob Hope, Johnny Cash and Steve Jobs. Now we have no hope, no cash and no jobs.

Argos used 4 upbacks today against the Lions.
