What have you got against the millions of Jays fans across the country - many if not most of whom are either fans of the CFL or are the exact fans that the CFL need to capture - especially in the GTA?

Sports fans are sports fans. They cross provincial and sometimes national borders. O Jays have a great following - of that there is no question.

The question is whether there fanbase is more power-less than even the worst CFL or NFL franchise in treatment of fans.

The decision to spare Whifftista the rod and let Edwin roam was probably the worst decision in recent BJ history. Now, Edwin is never gonna be Big Poppi - he's barely hitting .200 w/ Cleveland but he's popping dingers and no doubt will finish with 35+ HRs, 90 to 105 RBIs and an average near .245/.250 . . . . in other words a power-hitting hobo.

Bautista (whifftista in my universe) has only one positive trait - no one can beg a walk like that goof. Last nite - Boston actually walked this pos to load the bases and pitched to Kendrys Morales which seemed crazy considering how poorly Jose is faring at the plate. It worked out for the Red Sox as Morales whiffed to a Triple A pitcher.

I think the Jays with Vampiro or Shapiro or however are pretty much hooped. 20 million committed to a guy who's basically a great bullpen catcher (Russ Martin) but can barely hit .100 - even Bautista is a few points higher.

Pitchers who regularly go down with nicks - far longer than the initial estimate.

A manager who's consuming millions of dollars of profits in the form of sunflower seeds, bubble gum and mountain dew.

A training staff that needs to be replaced tout suite - the day before last year if you will. Trotting out Donaldson with his history of calf laments - that's dubious.

Devon Travis is still healthy - a miracle - but showing why he usually went down early - guy can't hit and is only an average fielder.

Once the Jays write off the season (nobody does it officially til they're officially off the post-season festivities) I'm sure vermin like Bautista, Martin, Travis, even Steve Pearce (their awful off-season pick up) will start popping balls like the dickens. Bautista could still end up with a great (for him) .233 average with 24 dingers and multiple walks (his specialty) while Martin will go on a post-elimination run that could jack his average up to the low .200s, if not even .250. Travis and Pearce are well on their way to making a case to be called career MLB hobos.

The day 25K of them buy Argos Season Tickets, is the day I will root for the Jays.

It was friends and family at last nights game against the Red Sox.

Wonder if there was a spike in hospital visits due to broken ankles from all those "fans" jumping off the bandwagon all at once.

Waiting for Patrick to send a stadium pic, on a angle, of course, that makes it look full.

Lots of season tickets no-shows last night. I'm sure some down the road at the Raps game - but I suspect even more no-shows tonight with the Leafs playing.

They actually announced 29,000 last night which is the same they announced at the game I went to last Wednesday - but the odd parts of the game I flipped to it appeared they had fewer in the stands than the game I was at. The game I was at looked to be in the 23,000 - 25,000 range actually there. Last night around the 4th or 5th inning looked to be in the 21,000 range but many of those were long gone by the 7th inning becaue of how long the game was dragging. It was 10:00PM still in the 7th inning at that point.

You get a few different angles of the crowd in this video - and not that bad a crowd for an April weeknight for a 2-11 team. Best I could do Kevin. lol

That game last night went ridiculously long - 3hr and 48 minutes for a 9 inning game? Absurd. There was hardly anybody there by the 9th inning when the Jays scored 3 runs to make it a little bit interesting at the end.

And the 44,000+ saw Whiff-tista at his whiffing best - striking out 4 times today. Now batting a lowly .109. lol

Mind you the whole team were at their whiffing best today - 18 strikeouts! It's hard to be that bad.

Another great starting pitching performance - this one six innings of 3 hit shutout pitching by Estrada wasted again as the Jays only got 5 hits all game. The lone offensive highlight this Morales home run tying the game in the bottom of the 9th.

Who is this? This can't be the Patrick we all know and love, because THAT Patrick would NEVER say anything bad about the Jays. ;)

Hope they paid and the sting sticks with them FOREVER - and they NEVER go to a Jays game again.

Thanks Pat for filling in for me today. Couldn't make it to the game - nor the early afternoon broadcast. Very accurate report btw.

Could have profound influences on all the toddlers shipped to the facility - watching grown men whiff 'n grunt like crazy.

While Whifftista earned the golden sombrero award - slopeavakia matched the 4/4 in the K dept. - mainly cuz Jays 20 million dollar Bullpen catcher Russ Martin is terrified of 83mph red sox fooseballs... :cowboy:
