Dow Futures : MINUS 436

That will change between now and 9:30 a.m. but let's all pray for a 20%+ pull back.

For six months now, I have been losing a LOT of money betting against the Stock Market - not to mention all the capital gains I could have got. This is my last month and, if the market doesn't correct, I am giving up the ghost and investing. At which time, the market will crash and I will hate myself for a LONG, LONG time.

I guess that tax introduced on foreign real estate purchases is working then. When I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago the sales manage for the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel we were staying at when touring us through his hotel and pointing out some of the great views also noted two neighbouring condo towers. In one of then over half the building was unoccupied and the other close to half empty - even though all units had been sold - and those units had been empty for a cople ofyears.

The reason foreign purchasers who don't even bother renting them but rather have simply purchased them with the idea of selling them 2-3 years later because of the great return they would get because just how much real estate prices were soaring. So even though the condo market was red hot - there were actually hundreds of foreign owned units actually vacant in prime buildings in the city.

Yup. I feel sorry for those, particularly young people, who just overpaid on homes.

A 38.8% drop, in one month, is insane.

Yes it is.

The avg house price in Vancouver is 1.77 million. The avg home owner just lost 675 thousand off of their home.

Homes are still priced way to high in Vancouver and Victoria. I'm sure Calgary has come crashing back down to earth. I feel sorry for all of those young high rollers who have the HUGE pickups all jacked up, boat, jet ski's, huge house and debt thinking that life was the cats arse. Now they are back living with mom and dad. So sad. haha. The entitled ones.
Rescue the sunken 'Good Ship Argonaut' and restore her in 2017, PLEASE!!!!

Ever since the good for Clinton FBI news dropped yesterday the USD and stock markets have surged. (and yes there is a direct relation West).

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-stocks-s ... s-clinton/

NEW YORK - Stocks are surging on Wall Street, breaking a nine-day losing streak, after the FBI said newly discovered emails didn’t warrant any action against presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The Dow Jones industrial average jumped 340 points, or 1.9 percent, to 18,228 as of 1:13 p.m. Eastern time. The S&P 500 index gained 42 points, or 2 percent, to 2,128 in midday trading. The Nasdaq composite jumped 116 points, or 2.3 percent, to 5,163.

Investors have been anxious in recent weeks over signs that the U.S. presidential race was tightening. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index is coming off its longest losing streak since 1980. Monday’s surge erased more than half of those losses.

The dollar strengthened across the board. It was up to 104.57 yen from 103.13 on Friday. The dollar was down 2.2 percent to 18.61 Mexican pesos from 19.03 pesos. The Mexican currency has become an indirect proxy among investors for Trump’s chances to win the White House. Investors have speculated that a Trump administration would be negative for the Mexican economy, and would cause the Mexican peso’s value to fall as a result.
