Does this make you feel better?
As soon as he killed himself the stupid laws that are up there just deemed him Innocent...innocent of a crime he was already guilty of.
Just because he had an appeal pending how upsetting that must me for the family. Now they just lost their justice and all the civil suits too.

Sorry Kevin cannot get anywhere near on board with you on this one.

This was not a "mistake" he chose to live like that and pull that trigger

I have no idea why I felt bad for A.H. Oh well, I was wrong and I have directed my empathy elsewhere.

What bugs me is that people like this will most likely at worse get a small fine. She climbed a crane illegally to take photos - then almost fell and slid down to the hook mechanism - and they had to rescue her with a rope rescue by the fire department. Total costs for firefighters, EMS and police on the scene, disruption to traffic, interfering with the construction site this morning - several thousands of dollars.

Here in Hamilton all the rope rescues they end up having to do due to 'misadventure' along the escarpment and near all the waterfalls cost tens dollars of thousands annually.

They should have to pay for the cost of their rescue. Same with any thrill seeker. If you do something stupid, and we have to save you, you pay the cost.

A friend held a garage sale and I had 2 wall hanging I wanted to see - they cost me $70, 20 years ago, and I want to rid myself of them. Being the lazy, dummy I am, I forgot to drop them off. :thdn:

I saw the same article. She's facing 6 mischief charges. A small fine, if even that. But compare that to the dozens of morons who each year have to be rescued because they chose to wander off the marked trails or go skiing in the off limits areas that are clearly posted on Vancouver's north shore mountains. Every time some moron gets himself or herself "lost" in the beautiful mountains that are a stone's throw from Vancouver it costs search and rescue huge: the cost in manpower, equipment and time is enormous. Not to mention that these idiots put the rescuers in harm's way.
One or two are grateful enough for being rescued and they actually make a small "donation" but very few will do this. Most just get their "15 minutes of fame" on the local news network. Those who end up having to be rescued because of stupid choices should be required to pay at a minimum the entire cost of the rescue. Not sure if we are ever going to see that in the near future. The rescuers by the way are all volunteers. They receive no salary.
