Attendance vs TV

Not on this year's books, no. But it attendance is down from when they first signed the deal, why would TSN pay more next time around?

There are other economics at play as well, ie inflation, increasing values of all TV sports, but don't think declining viewership won't come into play for the next TV deal.

Of course, when the Argos or any CFL look to sell ads and sponsorships (which = millions of dollars annually), those TV numbers are huge, much more important than in-stadium attendance.

This may be OT but don't feel the need for a separate thread (mods feel free to split)

CFL and Sirius XM extend their partnership for another 2 years covering all games including French coverage for Als and RedBlacks games.

Though likely doesn't move the needle too much with $$ but there but it still covers the country and gives access to those who are outside of the reach of the respective local coverage.

It's still a revenue stream in addition to attendance and TV money. It all adds up.

In dealing with Attendance, I read an article (can't seem to remember where) that in Vancouver the Whitecaps of the MLS get Priority over the Lions at BC Place when it comes to scheduling.

Kind of surprised me, being that the Lions have played there for so long. Is this something that changed after the Olympic upgrades??

Every little bit helps. Hope it moves the needle, even a little bit.

Hopefully the ratings for last night's game are good - at least 600,000 between TSN and RDS - as the attendance was terrible. Only 18,000 last night.
