Neither Glenn or Young or Vick are better than Durant and really no potential younger QB's in the future to take over, If this is the best Jones can come up with, It is a big fail.
It is longshot possible for Glenn to have a good year, but he is 38 next month and Young has not played a down of CFL football

"It all looks like the Roughriders, when they dumped Durant, had no plan in place to replace him. They truly are scrambling around, making high-profile moves that, at best, are longshots to succeed.

They should have kept Durant."

Well it looks like all the future qb's that Jones has been supposedly turning stones over to find are jumping ship faster than you can blink an eye at . Jake Heaps is the latest one as he has signed on with the Seahawks immediately after the Riders mini-camp finished . Jake Waters was the first to leave to take up a coaching position at Iowa State . Next G.J. Kinne announced his retirement to take on a job opportunity in the real world . With the three defections the Riders are now looking at going into T.Camp with the prospects of having a much travelled 38 yr old Kevin Glenn , the "Haven't played in 6 yrs" soon to be 34 yr old Vince Young , the relatively inexperienced and raw Brandon Bridge and the unknown and unproven Bryan Bennett as their quarterbacks for this upcoming season . Yikes , if this is Jones idea of a plan , well good luck to him on that . Better keep turning over a few more stones there Jonesie in your search for "the next one" because it seems as fast as you're signing them up the faster it is that they're leaving town.

You got to admire Sakatchewan media and the majority of their fans (Not the misfits sent here from Riderfans).

They are livid and with good reason. The Green Zone yesterday. Was very revealing. The Reynolds interview in particular where he was juggling around answers like a Cirque du Soleil acrobat.

The Jake Heaps situation is an interesting one.

He took part in the Riders recent mini-camp, and as we have learnt all participating players have to be under contract.

Yesterday out of the blue we learn Heaps is back with the Seahawks, yet was not on the list of Rider cuts.

So is this another fine mess Jones has gotten into?

Well now this story from Justin Dunk says you can attend mini-camp if on a neg list, which conflicts with what we heard previously about non-signed players not allowed to work with signed ones. So maybe that was the case with Heaps.

Freeman has been on Calgary’s exclusive negotiation list since September 2015, which means he can attend mini-camp without a contract, abiding by CFL rules.

So your new cute little term is "cult". How patronizing of you. Along with words like "slug", "misfits". Maybe you should go to Regina to a game and start loudly throwing some of these insults around just to see what happens.

CGY brings in to their minicamp off their Neg list, QB Josh Freeman, he was a 1st round NFL draft pick,17th overall in 2009 to the TB Bucaneers.
He is 29yrs old, 6'6",240lbs and a spotless criminal record. His last start came in January 2016 with the INDY Colts

He still holds these Bucaneer franchise records

Highest quarterback rating in a single season - 95.9 (2010) (in 16 starts)
Most 4th quarter comeback wins in a single season- 5 (2010) (tied with Doug Williams)
Most game winning drives in a single season- 5 (2010) (tied with Brad Johnson)
Highest completion percentage in a single season - 62.8 (Min. 500 attempts) (2011)
Most touchdown passes thrown in consecutive games - 15 (2010-2011)
Fewest interceptions in a single season: 6 (2010) (in 16 starts)[24]
Longest pass completion: 95 (vs New Orleans Saints) (2012)
Most pass completions in a career - 1,144 (2009-2013)[25]
Most consecutive seasons, 3,000 yards passing - 3 (2010-2012) (tied with Brad Johnson)[25]
Most seasons with 3,000+ passing yards - 3 (tied with Brad Johnson)[24]
Most passing touchdowns in a career - 80 (2009-2013)
Most passing touchdowns in a game - 5 (tied) (December 26, 2010 vs. Seattle Seahawks)

Amazingly,
There were no TV cameras, no airport mobs, no press conferences, no dog and pony show at their camp

Why on earth would they sign this guy when they have Bo Levi Mithcell? He's two years older than Mitchell.

Riders seem like a mess right now not sure what's happening there but hope they have at least a half decent team for the new stadium be a shame if they had no good QB to start out the year.

Wouldn't some of the recent cuts be better like what about Crompton, or hell maybe even try a Canadian QB. Why wouldn't they start Brandon Bridge?

The guy can totally start. And he would be better than Vick and Young no question. Bridge is more than capable of taking the role.

...because behind BLM the stamps QB situation is a little tenuous...Arbuckle, Buckley and Gale...all probably okay in a backup role but thrust into the spotlight it's a crapshoot...Freeman at least has some NFL starts...

Then it is a good thing BLM NEVER gets hurt.

He will play all 18 games without a scratch.

OK, he might get a paper cut turning the pages of the play book , but nothing more.

Serious. Stamps have a solid brick wall for an o-line and BLM has the fastest release in the CFL.

He is the one QB, that does not have to worry about an injury. EVER.
