Let me think about that one...........ahhhhhhhhh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Its not a political thing, he is very well connected, well respected, can manage through good times, or a financial crisis.

Plus it would be a publicity boon for the league.

It absolutely is a political thing, and there would be no "boon", just most of the country upset with the CFL. Dumb.

Terrible choice, he was so divisive (because he was one of the worst Prime Ministers in history) that more than half of the people hate him already. Zero chance.

He was out of touch the last couple years of his tenure, but I wouldn't call him the worst. He did well his first term. Its the moron in Trudeau that we have that is the worst PM ever.

Someone made a great point - Stephen Harper -, we used to see him at every REDBLACKS home game, he loves the CFL and wrote a book on hockey. If he's not too busy he would make a good choice..............
He would have a lot of influence and connections that's for sure.

Actually, I wouldn't mind Harper as a commissioner. It would never happen as the pay cut is not worth it.

Good business connections and especially in his last term, very much a control freak with those he's working with. I think we would be handle that boardroom and throw his influence around.

Most likely, whoever will be chosen will be qualified but not much of a household name.

Harper will never be the guy but it is interesting to think about it.
I think Harper would overshadow and dominate things way too much. He'd be the story.
Plus you'd have to have security follow him along.
And how the hell would you ever fire him?

One of the funniest things I ever saw was when a fan at the REDBLACKS game walked right past Harper and CFL Commissioner Mark Cohen totally ignoring them both but stopped to shake hands with CFL legend Russ Jackson who was sitting next to them . :) Priceless :cowboy:

Harper as Commish .

Interesting.

I always voted for him, liked him, respected him and he did great things for the country.

Would he be good and effective as a Commish ? I see no reason why not. I would like to see it.

However , the CFL owners more than not want a yes man they can manipulate and push around. :thdn:

That would NOT be Stephen Harper. :D

Not to get overly political, but if you had Steven Harper as Commissioner, you would **** off over half the country for hiring that a**hole. And I would be one of them.

...I'd support his hiring just for that reason alone
There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark.

You just did get over political.

If a guy that stimulates the economy, creates jobs and builds our military to the point were we can defend our way of life upsets you, then I guess you are happy with an idiotic drama teacher running our country into ruins.

No, I didn't get "overly" political. Now I will

The worst Prime Minister in history

http://www.nationalobserver.com/2015/05 ... er-history

Back to the topic, we need someone in the Michael Cohon mold again, business/marketing/television background, but relatable to the fans. Someone like Pinball in my opinion doesn't have the deal-making ability, although he would be great in a PR capacity.
