4 downs would be treason and the end of the league.

For the most part the game is just fine. I have no problem with tweaks, even on a yearly basis, but some of the more radical ideas that get proposed are more then silly.... the CFL would be better served to be more meticulous when making rule changes.

Actually the CFL could be more meticulous in most that they do.

Leave all the other rules in place.

yes...it should be no contact allowed at all. I never had any problem covering a receiver man on man in touch and flag ball without any contact allowed. No reason why the pros cant do it.

Nothing wrong with rule tweaks to improve the flow of the game.

But to deliberately mimic US rules (eg. 4 downs) would be a huge mistake. I love the Canadian game BECAUSE it is different, because it requires different strategies, and different skill sets at many positions to excel at the game.

If you mimic the NFL game, you backfire ... because what you end up with is the same game ... played by less talented players.

A huge miscalculation IMO.

I think everyone can agree on that. And end the different home/road helmets too please, it's ridiculous.

As of now , Stamps, Lions, and Argos need to drop the alternate helmets.

Both Riders got rid of the white helmets ( Washington Federals ) and Esks got rid of the green ( Memphis Maddogs ) .

I hope the other 3 mentioned do as well.

Pick a helmet and stick with it.

Also, perhaps it was just me. I had a hard time watching the Grey Cup.

Not because of the outcome. I have learned to live with wins or defeats.

There was so much black and red on the screen, I could just not focus in.

Most likely psychological because of my dislike for the Stamps black helmets.

Love the CFL! but ...

I agree - the Stamps colours are Red and White NOT Black. Helmets should be Red or White.
Ottawa is Red and Black - their helmets can be Red or Black - NOT white

Have to agree with what has been posted about helmets and road unis.
Stamps need to get rid of the black road helmets. Kind of stupid to use them as there are 3 other teams who have black helmets (at home). Calgary's red ones are unique and should be worn all the time. While they're at it, get rid of the black home pants (why can't they wear white ones???) :?
The all white look (what I call the storm trooper look) that some teams have for road games looks bland and boring. A white jersey is fine but isn't even needed these days really. No one watches B&W TV anymore, so teams could wear their normal (home) unis for away games unless there's a clash with the home team's colours. They would then wear a white jersey. The Touchdown Atlantic game between Hamilton and Calgary featured both teams wearing their normal home unis and no one had a problem telling them apart.

I agree with everthing you post.

At this point, I think it is just tradition of a white road uni.

Yet if they were concerned about tradition, they would not have these alternate helmets all over the place.
