A good way to keep fans in the seats if the team is struggling...which we know the Larks will be....

$$

If Hamilton, Ottawa wanted to earn more money, then the opening game, labour day games, playoffs need to add temp seats in stadiums that can accommodate it. I am sure the Labour day game in Hamilton could sell an additional 10,000 seats, especially if the teams are bunched up in the standings and are playing exciting football

The problem is the cost. I've read it costs $100 per seat.

Yes exactly, I watched the temp seats go up in Ottawa for the GC back in 04, it took weeks and an army of workers to erect a 10k grandstand, and another week or so to remove them. You also have to provide porta-toilets and concession because you can't have another 10k fans using the existing facilities.
The time and cost would be prohibitive.
You better make sure that you can sell the seats before you spend money on installing them.

Training camp announced back at York University today. Moved from Guelph.

Fan Day is back also at York U on June 3.

Definitely need these back here to connect and build.

is it the same field where they held the 2014 fan day? I am having trouble locating the field (Alumni Field) on google maps, so I can plan the best way to get there from Oshawa (I don't drive).

Since the Argos have Popp and Trestman, plus what seems to be half a roster of former Als players, maybe we should call the Argonauts the Argouettes!

That way we could add the 20 000 that show up to Als games to the Argos 15 000.

The Argouettes actually draw 35 000 fans to games... :D

I took peek at and you can still get front row tickets between the 40 and 50 yard line ! People should buy some. I think Toronto is going to have a hell of a team. As long as Ray is healthy, they are my pick to win the East.

I don't know about winning the East but right now on paper they have the best "D" in the east.

I looked at ticketmaster and based on the fact nearly all the seats in the east upper deck are not being sold there are probably only around 12,000 seats sold for the first regular season game. Keep in mind this is against the Ticats so there will be thousands from hamilton at the game. Expect no more than 15,000 in three weeks time...

You expect a 10,000 fan drop from last season opener for the 5-13 argos?

Not likely try soldout

If they couldn't sell out last year's home opener against the Ticats which was the first game at BMO with all the media coverage, promotion the ex-Argos etc, they certainly won't draw anywhere near last years 24k.
Like last season it will be the biggest crowd of the year, thanks to Ticat fans.

20k average for this season would be something to build on.

For the Alouettes maybe , as for Toronto ? , 20k average ? good luck with that one . I honestly think that we might be talking close to 20k as in empty seats for some games in Toronto this season

Well, he's not wrong that it would be something to build on, 20,000 would be great after last year. I think simply maintaining last year's 17,000 would be something to build on considering there's no Grey Cup or new stadium to lure in customers. We'll have to just wait and see.

The GC tickets weren't a draw, they ended up getting pawned off by the pair at Pizza Pizza with a 20.00 pizza. Probably an all-time low in the history of the franchise.
