Argos extend Franklin for 2 yrs...he’s off the table contract-wise.

Naylor said the contract leaves room to sign Ray

The @TorontoArgos deal with QB James Franklin is for 2 years and allows them $$ room to bring back Ricky Ray. Franklin to arrive in T.O. today for a medical before deal becomes official. #CFL #Argos

Apparently Argos offered more than the Riders for ZC…although not sure how that works after they’ve just traded for Franklin, must have been before the Franklin trade

“ironic #Riders turned draft pick they got for Durant into Collaros, and #Argos offered Ticats more than Riders did”

Riders release Glenn and Getz retires

Well Getz surprised me but releasing KG, the signs were on the wall/
I figured this would happen regardless of who the Riders signed......

Nothing surprising...getz wss patch duty and Glenn was obviously done as soon as Zach came over.  It was known when Bouka signed that he may get an NFL look in the off-eason and they made a gentleman's agreement.

As far a the Argo offer for ZC...from what I have heard there were a few offers.  The Cats were not trading in-division if avoidable....which is fairly normal in big name trades.  That offer was apparently on the table right up until the Riders tweeked enough to make the trade...so this week...and was made since picking up Franklin.  An offer was made before that but upped post Franklin.

I think once ZC picked up that Franklin knew he was about to lose bargaining power so signed

Sad to see KG go though it's exciting to get Collaros. I hope he comes back as a coach if he doesn't end up playing elsewhere

The Schmoes signed Glenn 😊👏🏻

I've heard he actually had multiple offers come his way.. .suspect that completing the cycle was a big factor

I'll bet he's glad to be staying in the Western Conference and with Edmonton a legitimate contender to a Grey Cup run.
Looks good on him.

Where will DD end up? Options don't appear to be numerous.

Abendschan

Hamilton - perhaps in a coaching role of sorts.

Allek

Wouldn't a team be better off developing someone young, rather than Doubles chucking the ball into the turf at x amount of $
Once a Rider fan, always a Rider fan.

nythril

BC or Ottawa may fit the bill better for landing spots. Both teams have #1's that are young and barring injury are not going anywhere anytime soon.  Calgary for that matter could use him as an experienced back up. The major factor isn't if there is work for him - there is. It is "is DD ready to take on a back up role?"
