Piece of ice broke thru the roof...

"The Star also reported that the Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays, suffered a hole in the roof over right field and that snow is now on the field."

Now its a matter of how quickly they can find skilled contractors to repair the vacancy in the roof.

Not an easy matter - they have to mobilize men, materials, budgets, foremen and design planners as well as civil engineers to assure the public - and the insurance company (assuming an insurance claim is involved) to get the work done - on time and securely.

If this was IGF Stadium in Winnipeg - Miller would simply call the nearby Hutterite colony and ask William if he could do the job for $100, 2 chicken schwarmas from Obby Khan and 4 upper level tickets for the home game vs. Montreal.

My guess is the Toronto roof repair (and rebuild) will tag in around $1.5 to $3.5 million

That's a shame.   ;D

Tonight's game is now postponed. Too dangerous with ice still up on the CN Tower.

Jays playing .667 ball and the place is empty.

I can understand the rescheduled DAY game being empty, but the night game too?

Good news IF you want to go to a game...  They are back to the top pic, again.

If you haven't got off, and most have, it's time...

Jays TV numbers are way down as well.  And they're playing .688 ball.

That's a shame! :)

To be fair to Jays fans there were 20,000 down the road at the ACC for the Raps and close to 30.000 down the road in the other direction at BMO at the same time as their game tonight. Very busy weeknight for sports fans in the city. My remote certainly got a major workout tonight.

Quite the crowd in the snow at BMO.

Look for a better crowd at the Jays game tomorrow with no TFC, Leafs or Raptors competition and an after work 4:07PM start time. Maybe hitting 25,000.

Uh huh...  And what about this afternoon?  Were other teams playing today?

Season tickets and attendance WAY down in Toronto - and they are playing great baseball.

I thought you said attendance and TV numbers would only fall late in the season if they were playing badly? (giggle, giggle)
