how about pawn to b7, pawn to b8. Second queen.  Last move depends on black moves

how about pawn to b7, pawn to b8. Second queen.  Last move depends on black moves
According to the Engine, Pawn to b7 starts a Mate in 5...

1) b7... f5,
2) b8Q (Check +)... Kf6
3) Qg8... Nf7
4) Q on b3 takes Knight on f7 (Check+)... Ke5,
5) Q x f5 (Mate ++)

We need a Mate in 3.

It's TOUGH.  I'll put up the solution later today.

#### KevinRiley2

TBH, I needed an engine to figure this one out.  ONLY one move Mates In 3...

Black has 5 possible moves but they all result in Mate in 3.

A)

OR

B)

Or

C)

Veselin Topalov vs Garry Kasparov, Moscow, 1994
Topalov with white moves and wins in 4.

Looks interesting but I don't use a chess board.  I try to do it all in my head and when there are too many possible moves by black, I keep losing it.

Gonna give it a good try though

#### FootbalYouBet

I see a 50% chance of a 3 move mate, but black would probably not cooperate.
