Yesterday, Trey Rutherford was in Montreal and last night he did meet with season ticket holders, along with Patrick Boivin and Kavis Reed.

I wonder if he has already signed a contract. I expect  a 3 year agreement. For the first year, I say a total ranging between $96,000 and $108,000 which would include a signing bonus ranging between $15,000 and $24,000. For 3 years, we could have a total in the vicinity of $300,000.

Upon further review, I have reflected on the trade for the past day or so. Read the comments which have been insightful and made me see this from the "other" side.

Perhaps this trade is not so bad after all given all the details. Time will tell how this all fares.

But for now, Reed gets an "atta" boy for this move.

Based on the latest moves, trade and draft I have reviewed my numbers for the total salaries for 2018; these numbers include $40,000 bonus paid to Kyries Hebert. These numbers are based on 46 players,i.e. 25 Int. and 21 Nat.:

8 defensive linemen,i.e. 4 Int. and 4 Nat. I have 3 Int. rookies and 1  Nat.rookie. -Banner-
6 linebackers,i.e. 3 Int. and 3 Nat. I have 1 Nat. rookie.-Poulin-
9 defensive backs,i.e. 5 Int. and 4 Nat.  I have 1 Int. rookie.
2 Specialist,i.e. Nat. Bédard and Int. Bede.
7 offensive linemen,i.e. 2 Int. and 5 Nat. I have 1 Nat. rookie.-Rutherford- and Bomben. Gagnon is injured.
7 receivers,i.e. 4 Int. and 3 Nat. I have  I Int. rookie-Richardson- and 2 Nat. rookies-2 amongst Carter,Moisan and Morrison.- Int. Chris Williams is included.
4 running backs/fullbacks and KR.,i.e. 2 Int. and 2 Nat. The 2 Nat.are amongst Nat. Murray-Lawrence, Touré and rookie Stone.
3 Int. quarterbacks,i.e. Freeman, Shiltz and a rookie.

The actual annual total for these 46 players amounts to: $4,768,000. Since the max. approved cap for 2018 is $5.2 millions, there is a "reserve" of $432,000 for injured players for 1 game and players on practice roster.

Richard, not sure if you`ve considered it, but similar to Gagnon, it is doubtful Nicolas Boulay will be ready to start the season because of his knee injury.
I`m not always right, I just think I am.

RichardVeilleux

Thanks Sheldon.Yes, I have included Boulay but as you wrote, he may not be ready; if so, he will most probably be replaced by a rookie making less than him.

My opinion, they won't start the season with zero CFL experience at QB Willy, Schiltz and Freeman They will place Fugate on the PR or IR for 6 games.
Everything I write is just an opinion formed from various sources. Some more reliable than others, it is expressed as a composite of facts, innuendos, emotions, personal experiences and complete fabulation into a gumbo for entertainment purposes alone.

While there is always a remote chance that Willy and Freeman, along with Shiltz, will be on opening game roster, I doubt it for Willy and Freeman; unless Josh Freeman is the starter, he won't be in Montreal/on the roster. No way that they will keep him as number 2 or 3. To me, it's number 1 or out.

If Freeman is out, I will be less surprised if Willy remains on the roster, but not as the starter. Khari Jones knows and has coached Drew Willy and he may want to keep him.

When Patrick Boivin and Kavis Reed met with season ticket holders on Friday night, we did hear on RDS fans that would rather loose with a young or rookie QB,  than with an older one who is not the future.

That will be the story of interest at Als camp.

Jones made his career in the CFL throwing 50/50 balls. They've built their receiver corps around that skill as well Both Willy and Freeman had their successful season thowing 50/50 balls, so did Crompton.

You can kind of tell this offense will be built around a heavy run game and throwing long bombs, at least early on.

In one addition I learned that our team was giving the TiCats their second pick in the 2019 draft.
In another section I read that the TiCats were to get our first pick in the 2019 drate. Whats going on". Prior to these this my understanding was the former second pick to the TiCats in 2019.

Hello Sir. The Alouettes owe Hamilton their second-round pick in the 2019 draft that will be selection #10 to #19 depending on where the Alouettes finish in the standings/post season.
