Most of these highpaid vets won't be returning. The only ones who earned a paycheck are Lewis and Hebert. Lewis I think is done and Hebert probably can play one more season. At least have the conversation with him and give him the option to make a run with a team that is going to the post season IMO.
Johnny would add Bowman. He is still playing well enough to play another season.
Wonder if he and Hebert would want to stay here for one more year.
Bowman has 2 Grey Cup rings and was part of the great Alouette teams of 2009 and 2010. He surely misses winning. Why would he want to beat up his body for a losing go nowhere team?

As far as Johnny knows, Hebert has never won a championship in the CFL, or in his time in the NFL. Logic suggests he would like to make a run for a Grey Cup. That won't happen with the Alouettes...

Agreed. Those two surely would be welcomed in Argoland reuniting with Popp and Trestman.

The normal state of affair after this fiasco would be for Boivin to fire Kavis minutes after the last game of the season and for him to hire his own people. If the Wetenhall interfere or even try to get their nose in the hiring of the new GM, Boivin should quit very publicly.
Everything I write is just an opinion formed from various sources. Some more reliable than others, it is expressed as a composite of facts, innuendos, emotions, personal experiences and complete fabulation into a gumbo for entertainment purposes alone.

LeStaf

Kavis Reed should be done after the season (in a normal and sane organisation...). He fired Chapdelaine and Thorpe to save his own backside.

There are 2 big problems with the firings.

1. He had no one better than Thorpe to replace him.
2. He had no one who could run Chapdelaine's offence.

1. When he fired Thorpe, he gave the job to Greg Quick. Quick was a DC only one season with the Riders. He was a disaster! Anyone with half a brain would have known that going from Thorpe to Quick, the defence would be even worse. It has been much worse!

2. Chapdelaine designed the offence and playbook, and he was the OC. He had total control over the offence. By firing Chapdelaine, Reed fired the only person who really knew the offence well enough to run it. Calvillo had no input in designing the offence, and had not called a single play all season. Anyone with half a brain would have known the offence could only get worse.

Did Reed think his intense pre game speeches would be enough to overcome all of that, and make the team better?! Reed's judgement needs to be called into question. The 2 firings were a desperation move by a man out of his depth, trying to save his own backside by shifting the focus away from himself. His plan backfired big time! He now looks worse than ever!

I will take it one step further and say the Wettenhals look worse than ever for putting Reed as GM.

In another thread I Questioned the play calling of Calvillo without taking note that Chapdelaine was doing the OC play calling. My apologies for being mistaken.

Let's hope the Wetenhalls see it the same way!   :)

They went along with the firings. They are accessories :)

With the Ticats' victory, the Als are now alone in last place in the East.

With the Redblacks' victory, the Als are now officially eliminated from the playoffs.

The Als have the worst record in the CFL.

The TRIPLE CROWN baby!   :P

RichardVeilleux

No team, including the Als, is officially eliminated, yet.

An Ottawa win AND an Als loss Monday will eliminate the Als from the playoffs.

It will be official in about 27 hours.
