Herb Zurkowsky posted that he has heard from multiple sources that there is a good chance Darian Durant restructures his contract as the Als need a CFL veteran QB on the roster.

Als obviously need a backup plan in case Freeman is not the answer.  Freeman was not exactly highly sought after as he was dropped by both Calgary and Ottawa last year and was on nobody's neg list for about 6 months..
Kind of curious where that all fits with developing a young QB that Kavis said is going to happen.
Everything I write is just an opinion formed from various sources. Some more reliable than others, it is expressed as a composite of facts, innuendos, emotions, personal experiences and complete fabulation into a gumbo for entertainment purposes alone.

Wonder if that restructure will have him paying back some of the money he made for his "all star" on field performance last season.

Not a major surprise if Darian Durant agrees to restructure his contract. 37.5% to 50% of $400,000 is much better than 100% of $$00000. As long as there is no bonus.

It is a mistake to keep him at any price. When the young QB's struggle (normal). Reed will force Sherman to start Durant. Just like he kept trying to force Kerry Joseph down the throat of Eskimo fans.

Herb Zurkowsky posts that Darian Durant being due a bonus on January 15 is not accurate.

Tyrell Sutton: "To me, it’s a long shot that Josh Freeman works out and excels in the CFL, based on everything we know about why he didn’t succeed in the NFL."

Is Sutton alluding to the rumor that Freeman's downfall was not due to ability but instead his own personal demons?

In some ways I hope so ... because THAT is something that he may have addressed in the interim.
Let's  not confuse FACTS with OPINIONS

Interesting comment from that post :

Troy Smith didn’t work out. Rakeem Cato didn’t work out. Vernon Adams Jr. and Brandon Bridge weren’t given the right opportunity. Jonathan Crompton was dispatched unfairly. Darian Durant was an over-hyped flop. And now Josh Freeman? Oy, let’s hope he’s become a more studious person and less of a night owl during his two years away from football.

Hope Reed had done his due diligence.

Durant released.

That is the right decision... He's done like dinner and he had not been seen or heard of since he cleaned out his locker. Sherman obviously looked at film and saw what anyone not named Kavis saw.

According to John Lu, Kavis Reed is saying that the Als will continue talking with Durant's representatives about re-signing and then competing for a job at training camp.

The Durant release was truly key to me believing that Sherman will be making the key personnel decisions, if it were up to Reed alone his buddy would still be an Alouette tomorrow morning.. thankfully he will not.
So that's the positive news I take out of this.
EDIT: Oh no, Reed saying they might bring him back at lower cost.. scratch that.

The less positive news is that I have no faith whatsoever that Freeman will be any good, or even make the team out of camp. I need Sherman, our new scout from OTT, or Reed & the old gang to find us a QB with real promise.

I don't know the one from BC's neg list we apparently got for Rutley named Hurts, go after Fajardo, Freeman, Shiltz.. is there enough there to have a few decent QB's and hope one emerges as our guy for the foreseeable future? Find us that next guy, he's out there somewhere.

Troy Smith - BUST, plain and simple
Rakeem Cato - may not have worked out but he was not picked up by ANYONE else, so looks like he never was what we hoped
Vernon Adams Jr. - 3rd string at best in Sakatchewan, so the trade scores as a BUST for me, but not certain he is a loss otherwise
Brandon Bridge - looks like a possible missed opportunity
Jonathan Crompton - like Cato, he has not been picked up by ANYONE, makes me think there was nothing unfair about it
Darian Durant was an over-hyped flop - YUP
