Of course he wants to keep Durant. Otherwise every decision he's made like firing his HC look even worse. So far it is status quo at the QB position ;)

Everything I write is just an opinion formed from various sources. Some more reliable than others, it is expressed as a composite of facts, innuendos, emotions, personal experiences and complete fabulation into a gumbo for entertainment purposes alone.

Kevin Glenn is now the best available veteran QB, He did pretty well last season!
Makes zero sense when the HC says he wants a mobile QB. At this point the QB that Als need to focus on is Cody Fajardo. Sherman wants a mobile QB. Cody is 25. My guess is that Popp knows he's going to the NFL but maybe a solid contract may make him reconsider. I suspect BC would be after him as well, living in Nevada makes sense for him. I don't see anyone else in the league at this point the Als can make a play for that can lift his team up in the next year or two.
Has Fajardo ever even started a pro game??
It's a risk but he's looked good every time out. He reminds me a lot of Calvillo, long motion, similar frame at the same age but more athltetic. Cool cat... Likes to make the same throws Quick timing routes up the middle and drop balls to the corners. Might take a couple seasons for him to become a franchise QB but at least your heading up instead of down.

Dave Campbell posted that he heard the Als would be willing to pay Johnny Manziel close to his requested salary.

I am fairly certain the Ti-Cats knew all along the terms it would take for Manziel to sign a contract.  If the two side are not close by the end of the month, I would expect an eventual trade before minicamp 2018 rather than the Ti-Cats letting something of value rot for a full year.

June Jones previously said that "Johnny Manziel would be the best CFL player ever". Manziel's agent probably told the Tiger Cats pay Johnny accordingly. After these words from June Jones, I don't see how the Tiger Cats could offer him less than $300,000, which he probably would not accept.

While a team would take risks in signing Manziel, I would not be surprised if Montreal was the team the Tiger Cats gave permission to talk to Manziel and his agent.

I would not mind the Als paying in 2018 what they paid Durant in 2017; this is a possibility, provided a trade could be made with the Tiger Cats.

That's what happens when your GM lives in Edmonton. The Edmonton beat guy gets the news first :)

I think you're on to something there Richard. He's looking for Collaros type money 540K (at least 500k) The Als probably offered him 300k to 400k at the most.

My opinion is the Als dodged a bullet there by him turning them down. The last team that should consider bringing that bundle of fun into their organization is one that is staring at the bottom of a cliff.

Kavis giving up the top pick in the draft or falling back in the draft to trade for a selfish opportunist will not end well.

I`m afraid I don`t share the same enthusiasm for Fajardo.

I remember him from the Argos home game in Aug. when Ricky Ray was injured. Trestman thought so highly of Fajardo that he started Jeff Mathews. Fajardo started the 2nd half, did not seem capable of reading a defense, and would just take off at the slightest hint of pressure. In all seriousness though, he would make a great running back.

I would put Fajardo in the same class as Dan LeFevour.

As for Manziel, please no!
I`m not always right, I just think I am.

I'm an Argo STH and have watched Fajardo closely. He is an excellent runner and scrambler, great at short-yardage situations, a good placekick holder and a great teammate. But I think it's completely unrealistic to project him as a starting-calibre QB at this stage. He was third on the Argo depth chart most of last year(behind McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who shot past him by the midway point of the season). If Ricky Ray comes back, I expect Argos will let Fajardo walk as a FA. Even if Ray retires, Fajardo would be third-string at best behind Franklin and B-T, and I'd say it's 50-50 they let him walk and go with someone younger and more suited to Trestman's offence at third string.

I'm told the Als have once again added QB Josh Freeman to their negotiation list. @LCFca @CFL

Let me make a comparison. That would be like trying to stick a bandaid on top a chick covered in tanning oil.

Dave Naylor says the chances of Johnny Manziel being the QB in Montreal is at least as good (if not better than) him ending up in Hamilton.

As far as Josh Freeman goes, Kavis Reed tried to sign him last year.  He declined for whatever reason.  After he was neglisted and removed by the Redblacks, the Als made no effort toward trying to sign him.  Has Freeman since changed his mind?  If so, then he could be somebody who shows up at minicamp.

It is just an opinion. He says he reached out and they didn't reply. At least The Great Kazoo is working different angles. Must be a multi-dimensional matrix.

Last year they could only offer Freeman backup money. Maybe they think offering him more money could entice him?
