Well at least we have a kicker...
Proud Montreal Alouette season ticket holder since 2004. Former Section C2 Row 9, but got tired of missing circus catches in the endzone cuz of a stupid wall! New section M1 row 11!! Few steps away from the mens room!

You guys had some positives.

Bo Banner looked good against the run.

Fabien Foote looked decent

Running backs looked decent

Ackie played well

Some talent at receiver

Your secondary bit on a post route to Ellingson two plays in a row.  That needs to be fixed

We may have to start talking about cutting Ernest Jackson! He sucked all of last season, and looks as bad so far. He had some good seasons, but he doesn't look like that player anymore.

Too early to tell, but we might have Drew Willy as our starting QB. Really?! Willy is the best we could do? What are Reed and that Joe Mack doing? They can't find a young QB with more upside than Drew Willy?!  ::)

Lewis was the positive from last night's offense.

Beyond that, allot of work to be done.

Thankfully another pre season game to play before it "counts".

And Sherman to get his team out of the locker room to start the half on time.

Overall not a bad effort for a first game. Some teachable moments too with several blown DB coverages but some good intensity on display. Willy looked like the best of both teams Q.Bs ackie looked good on blitz pachages. I dont like kicking field goals in rxhibition games, better to get reps on O.

The Alouettes will greatly miss Olafioye. They gave up 4 sacks last night. Another boneheaded move by Kavis Reed to force out Olafioye...  ::)

As an outsider here, let me again state the very obvious......you need a QB desperately.
We cut Willy and before that I blame Barker for trading for him.
He was done then and there is nothing that I have seen last year or briefly in yesterday's game that would give me some cautious optimism  that maybe he has regained some of his ability during the one great year with the BB.

My main takeaway is the concern remains that we may have no #1 QB, present or future, on the roster right now. If that is the case, and it is a very real possibility, then nothing else matters really.

I know Schiltz didn't get much help from the 2nd strings so it's hard to judge, still left me underwhelmed overall. Hopefully he gets to play with the 1st strings next game. Aside from that, even with a banged up O-line the 1st stringers managed to move the ball. The turnovers will give them something to focus on as they continue to focus on the season.

Didn't like the blown assignments on D, but given it's pre-season game 1 and the amount of new guys on side side of the ball, not to mention one week from changing DC's.. I'm not too worried, the talent is there. They had two INT's and came close to getting a few more, I expect that to continue.. and we'll need all the help we can get on offense.

Johnny would prefer a 6-12 record, with Schiltz as starter, learning the job and seeing if he can be the future. That would be preferable to an 8-10 season with Willy who is NOT THE FUTURE.

Either way, the defense is gonna have to keep opponents to under 14 points if the team is to win a few games.

Makeshift offensive line, and poor QB play won't add up to a lot of points.

Sherman probably came close to having a stroke last night at the number of penalties! There are more penalties in the CFL, and the Als have been at or near the top in the CFL for penalties, these last few years. Sherman will blow a gasket if the Als give up a whole field's worth of penalty yards each game. Time to cut this crap out! If a player cannot be disciplined, cut his arse!

On the note of penalties, Sherman has to look in the mirror.
Taking a delay of game penalty for not having the team out in time to start the 2nd half.

Unless I am mistaken (that did happen once) the sacks were allowed by guys who won't get much (if any) playing time.
Let's  not confuse FACTS with OPINIONS

Agreed Tom; would you mind giving us Bethel-Thompson?
