A couple of weeks ago when Kahlil Carter was named defensive co-ordinator, he gave this rather strange quote to Herb:

“I have a great vision for that defence. I’m a player favourite around the league,” Carter said from his Iowa winter home. “I’m going to get great players to come to Montreal. You’re going to see that.”

Well It doesn`t look like he will be attracting players from his Calgary DB position group according to the Calgary Sun:

Considering how strong the Stampeders’ defensive secondary was in 2017, the fact that six regular starters were eligible for free agency this off-season has been something of concern for fans.
Hufnagel, though, believes he’ll be able to get most of them signed to new contracts in the next couple of weeks.

Already, the Stamps have re-signed veteran Brandon Smith, while Shaquille Richardson signed with the Oakland Raiders earlier this week.

That leaves Jamar Wall, Joe Burnett, Josh Bell, Ciante Evans and Tommie Campbell all still unsigned with about a month to go before the free agency window opens.
“We’re talking, I think we’re very close,” Hufnagel said. “I’m sure that we’ll have a majority of them signed before the free agency date comes.”

All part of the Reed Matrix plan....

Could we sign the Saints guy that missed his tackle I’m sure he’s unemployed he can come do that here! That was so cfl style tackling lol
Proud Montreal Alouette season ticket holder since 2004. Former Section C2 Row 9, but got tired of missing circus catches in the endzone cuz of a stupid wall! New section M1 row 11!! Few steps away from the mens room!

Als re-sign Chris Ackie and Michael Carter.

Brandon Rutley is traded to BC for future considerations.

Lucas Bellemare

Rutley est meilleur que Sutton pour la réception de passes, mais en ce qui concerne le jeu au sol, Sutton est dominant. Par contre je ne suis pas certain de la signification de ''considérations ultérieures''.

3down says the future considerations is somebody on BC's neg list.

If the player is a QB, that would make it 3 years in a row that the Als traded for a BC neg list QB.

From Herb Zurkowsky:

Meanwhile, (Kavis) Reed and the organization are expected to reach a decision shortly on the future of veteran starting quarterback Darian Durant. Durant is due a $150,000 winter bonus on Tuesday — a payment the team is unwilling to make since he’s not expected to be the team’s starter next season.

Durant either will have his contract restructured, or he’ll be released.

Lions fans seem to think it is Jalen Hurts. Alabama QB (Junior)
Everything I write is just an opinion formed from various sources. Some more reliable than others, it is expressed as a composite of facts, innuendos, emotions, personal experiences and complete fabulation into a gumbo for entertainment purposes alone.

WR Alex Carroll who spent the whole year on the Injured List retired and will coach the Gordon Head Raiders.  Carroll joins Alex Pierzchalski as non-import receivers moving on from football this off-season.

Not sure what to make of this, but there is a post on social media where somebody is congratulating his female friend for becoming the Director of Football Operations for the Montreal Alouettes.

There was an article yesterday talking about Winnipeg's open tryouts where they found players who ended up starting games for them last year.  This off-season, the Bombers will hold about 14 free agent camps.  Riders will probably have over 20.  This begs the question on how the Als plan on upgrade their talent level since the team evidently believes this concept of searching for players is not efficient.

I`m surprised there is no mention of Kavis' speech at this forum, "How To Discourage A Female Assistant GM In 10 Easy Steps."
I`m not always right, I just think I am.

#Als have resigned long snapper Martin Bedard and defensive back  Mikaël Charland. Both were eligible to become free agents

10 Easy Steps ?
Come on, you know Kavis is probably using an holistically proven 4 dimensions matrix for this ! 😋

The value he brought was not commensurate with his salary ... rookie George Johnson was more effective at likely half the cost.   Hopefully, there will be more effective Nationals to spend the money on.

Pierre Vercheval has whispers that Kavis is currently trying to trim National players' salaries.

So much for building a winning culture...
