Situation may not be that bad,Sheldon; after all, Tiquan Underwood has had 8 receptions in 3 games.  Nothing to write hope about.

Richard

And Jackson has 67 yards in three games. I would say nothing to write home about either.

Bien d'accord sauf que Jackson a plus de potentiel que Underwood.

Which only serves to prove how badly Durant and JC's offense is so far.
Everything I write is just an opinion formed from various sources. Some more reliable than others, it is expressed as a composite of facts, innuendos, emotions, personal experiences and complete fabulation into a gumbo for entertainment purposes alone.

-On Tuesday, the transactions were:

ADDED TO PRACTICE ROSTER
Chris Greenwood (I), DB, Albion College
Miles Jones (I), RB, Jacksonville State

RELEASED
Ryan McManus (I), WR, Dartmouth

DB Chris Greenwood is a relatively large DB who was a 5th round NFL draft choice in 2012 and was released by the Bombers in June when the team made their final cuts.  He seems to have been injured through much of training camp.

RB Miles Jones does not appear to be standout as a prospect, but his signing is nevertheless noteworthy.  With the exception being Chris Greenwood, all the other imports (Miles Jones, Kyler Kerbyson, Geno Lewis, Ventral McMillan, and Anthony Sarao) on the Practice Roster are all represented by the same agent.  Only player from that agent on the Actice Roster is Jacory Harris.

With the release of Ryan McManus, I am guessing that the Als did not negotiate a deal to acquire a MVP Mobile Dummy.

-In this week's CFL Blitz (Kirk Penton's old column which is now done by committee), Herb Zurkowsky writes that it was Kavis Reed who initiated talks for the Als to practice at Olympic Stadium.  Jim Popp had tried previously but could never get ownership to spend the money.  Added cost is $40-50,000.  However, the team saves $25,000 by chartering.

Further to what okie has written, it is unusual for so many of the Als International rookies to be repped by the same agent - Martin Magid. There was also Tarik Bennett cut in training camp. I wonder where Joe Mack is in all this.

To be fair Magid does have other CFL clients - Cassius Vaughn, Marcus Howard, Abdul Kanneh.

And while Kavis Reed the personnel guy is still a work in progress, we certainly have to give him credit for updating the Als football operations.

An example from the CFL Blitz story Okie posted:

As part of his agreement with Olympic Stadium, a new training and weight room to be used exclusively by the players is being created. Immediate improvements will be made to the locker room and other training rooms. A new production studio also will be created, allowing for the processing and distribution of exclusive social media content for the team.

Again through sponsorship, Reed — with the help of front-office personnel in the team’s downtown business operations office — has arranged for the players to have breakfast before 9 a.m. meetings. When they conclude practice at 1 or 1:30, they can dine on lunch before leaving for home. Reed also arranged for water and air-purifier machines to be installed in the dressing room. While this is the norm for many CFL teams, the majority of which have moved into new stadiums, the Als painstakingly lagged behind the times. This is an opening step, one the organization hopes will help to attract players and keep the ones they already possess.

As per today's CFL transactions, Nat. DT Fabien Foote has be added to 1 game injured list.

With this move, Nat. DB Mikael Charland returns to active roster after being released from active roster and added to practice roster, on July 10,2017.

Other moves will be made if/when Ray Drew and Samuel Giguère return to active roster for Friday/s game.

I expect that Int. WR Tiquan Underwood and Int. DB Jalen Rodgers will be transferred to injured list.

If these are the moves the healthy scratches for Friday's game will be: Int. RB Brandon Rutley and Nat DT Don Oramansiowu

Another early season must win game. I think the team is going on a by week after this one. So going on vacation with a 2-2 record sitting tied in first or second place would be a much better outcome than 1-3 and possibly coming back from vacation in last place.

RichardVeilleux

The Als will go on a bye week only after week 6. After Friday's game, they will play in Ottawa on July 19,2017 and in Winnipeg on July 27,2017.After they will be on a bye week and return to Montreal to face the Argos on August 11,2017 and then in Toronto August 19,2017.

Bad news guys.

Herb Zurkowsky? @HerbZurkowsky1  9m9 minutes ago

Samuel Giguere was scheduled to make his season debut tomorrow. Now he has been placed on six-game injured list (hamstring).

idealsheldon

Because of injuries Calgary will be starting Reuben Frank at DE. He`s a guy we signed in the off-season but cut after mini-camp.

RichardVeilleux

I wonder if they will still add Int. DT Drew to the active roster with the injury to Samuel Giguère. I still say yes.

Richard

RichardVeilleux

The Als could still add Drew to the roster and also keep Underwood on it; to do so, they could add/put Int. LB/DB Brandon Dozier as healthy scratch.

Another option,if Underwood is deleted from active roster, could be to add Nat. WR Malcolm Carter to the roster, from the practice roster. More and more it's time to give a chance to young Nat. WR's.

It`s too bad about Giguere, really messes things up long term.

As for Underwood/ Drew, it`s pick your poison. Do you want an ineffective passing game or a poor pass rush?

The answer to this question is not an easy choice. I rate our offense as super poor, to date. If our passing game is somehow improved by using an import instead of an our home brews ( and taking into account Giguere won't be playing) we have to give the choice foranother other import receiver. In addition, if our offense finally improves, this might mean that we would have a better chance of decreasing the TOP that our D would have in Q4.
