.....Good synopsis as usual do... Good point made but dislodging the Roc might be difficult, knowing our coach, but is necessary or Ricky will eat us up....You mentioned Singleton....the guy is a monster and I believe we missed out on him in the draft, but were definitely interested..Spilt milk however....We had reservations about Hurl, I'm afraid he is who we thought and is displaying the ineffectiveness that plagued us last year...Might have to make an adjustment concerning him as well
...one of the most integral parts overlooked in conversation....is to hear what\'s NOT being said....Anonymous

I have been willing to give Carmichael the benefit of the doubt, given he's a rookie and he'd spent most of training camp learning the SAM spot while Leggett was injured.  However he's struggling too much at this point.  A lot of fans had issues with Bruce Johnson, I bet they are hoping he heals faster at this point.  Maybe they start Walker next game or rotate him in more.

Hurl is what he is.  Unfortunately none of the Americans like Knox or Temple in camp were able to prove they could offer better to force the issue and maybe have the bombers start a Canadian elsewhere.  Using him as the starter at MLB means Corey "poop" Johnson starts at DT, I'm not sold on him like you are DorD.  I do like Nevis though.  And I would agree, Westerman has been mostly invisible, as has Okpalaugo for the most part.  We're not getting enough play from the Dline, even on blitzes.  Mind you BLM was making really fast decisions oh his throws in the second half.  By comparison, Nichols was seemingly taking 2-3 seconds more to find a receiver at least which put the Oline under pressure and led to a few sacks.

Denmark was pretty much invisible vs the Stamps.  Lots of Adams and Dressler, but you can't beat a team like the Stamps using 2 receivers.  Actually a good receiving game for Harris, but haven't been able to get him going in the run.  3.2 ypc avg for Harris when the Redblacks were able to average over 5 ypc?  Not good enough.

What type of game were Lapo and Hall calling after halftime?  Anyone have a clue?

Loeffler really stood out...by taking a horrible angle on Jordan, whiffing on the tackle resulting in a big gain deep in our zone for the Stamps.  Credited with 1 tackle, never really seemed to be around the ball much.  Not a great start to the season for him IMO.

Have to agree with you on Lankford as well.  Not exactly a dynamic returner.

One of the mopes on the local bomber site said Lankford reminded him of a car without a steering wheel. Have to agree - seems to find contact wherever he turns.

That's not all on Lankford. Like most years bombers seem to be conceding the strength & power edge to opposing teams. Our spec. teams blocking is either atrocious or predictable - perhps some of both!

Gomer Kyle upgraded his d-line to be sure. Still no dominant monster like a Teddy Laurent or Ed McQuarters or John Helton, etc. Guys are trying hard - but taking predictable routes to the pocket - getting stood up or defeated despite moving the pocket back some.

o-line & route-running now surfacing as ancillary concerns - missing Bulldog Wiley to whip o-line into coordinated monsters. Route-running should be down pat - by now! Its NOT.
WAITING FOR A  MIRACLE - 27 YEARS, COUNTING!

......Agree on the special teams...we're not getting it done and special teams 'ace' Mike O seems to be missing that ......Another good guy in the middle for us was Barrin Simpson...we need another with that kind of strength and savvy....Blocking has been suspect and not crisp at all like it was last year.... A couple of them have totally whiffed on the rushes up the middle and keeping Nichols upright...That has to get better...I'll give them the 'it's early excuse' for now but we're definitely missing the big guy Wiley......On a positive, I like Miller on special teams...the guy is a monster and get's better every time out for us....I've been a little disappointed in Harris up till now and maybe it's time to give Flanders a shot...I know it might mean fooling around with the ratio but we need to get the running game going....T.O. is coming in here on a short turnaround...One day less than us to prepare plus travelling...That should be a slight advantage but with us, you just never know.

Yep, Mike "Don't call me Wad" Miller has been a revelation on teams.
Putting Flanders in is a solid idea - problem being the o-line is having a devil of a time blocking for Nichols. Imagine having to shift for a running style game? Those behemoths seem to be on their own - very little coordination so I'd hate to see the mess created if the bombers ran Flanders (or Harris) more than 10 times. :cowboy:
