GC Bound

Many Many Fans and Teams experienced the "absolute" presence of Don Mathews.
I personally remember vividly 'Don Mathews the coach' when he was here with the Riders.
He simply had only one priority; to win and to treat his players like winners. PR always came second.
So far I see 'a bit' of the Don in Chris Jones who we are experiencing now. :cowboy:

Don was a hardass who gave a player every ounce of himself if it was earned.  Heck of a man and brilliant football mind.  I know Jones always speaks very highly of him and states that he shaped a lot of his approach.  Don did well everywhere...which is remarkable. He was in bad situations in Edmonton and Saskatchewan but still did respectable...plus a fist full of rings says a lot.
