Well maybe if Jones is/was the coach some say he is, he shouldn’t have tried to adapt the entire team to his new R&S style but rather, to the abilities of what he has/had!  Why change the world around you when you can just adapt to the world.
Slomo the philosopher!
This argument might hold water if our offence had sucked once Jones took over, but what actually happened was they become much more effective.

A coach's job is to win games. Jones did what he thought would help us win games last year, and he got better results than what we had been doing before he took over. Once we started putting some wins together with Masoli, it would have been *insanity* to put Collaros back in "just to see how he'll do".

Insanity to see if the highest paid player in the league had indeed "lost it" or was a victim of circumstances?

Insanity to take a team that's finally winning some games after an 0-8 start and mess with what's actually working.

They were out of the playoffs with 2 games remaining. At that point nothing mattered.

Mattered to Jones, who at that point didn't know where he'd be coaching in 2018. Winning coaches have more job options. If he had already been under contract for 2018, he might have had more incentive to experiment once they were eliminated.
