Interesting read on who might be QB'ing where next season:

http://3downnation.com/2017/12/02/prognosticating-cfls-quarterback-carousel-2/
Interesting read but not very well researched and very much incomplete when you consider that the article doesn't even mention Masoli and where he might end up next season . I've honestly never seen another guy like Masoli who never seems to get the respect he deserves . I mean the Cats have won only 13 games total the past two seasons and all Masoli's done is win 10 of those 13 games . How can the author possibly  omit Masoli when he's the QB who is the upcoming and possible FA on this team ? It's as if the guy is an afterthought in all this and it's pretty puzzling as well as insulting that he doesn't even warrant a mention in this article .
I think you're right on, bobo82.  Masoli IS an "afterthought" here, around the league, and even in June Jone's mind, if Johnny Football signs, and stays, here.  Jeremiah deserves, and has earned over the past 3 seasons, much more respect. When it comes to extending potential free-agents, he's my #1.

Manziel is not technically a free agent, since the Ticats hold his rights.  I really hope we trade them.

Manzeil is the one i really worry about when posters reference the Cats will regret trading or releasing Collaros. That guy is a complete wildcard. He would do wonders for perking up the Montreal franchise.
BOOM or BUST.

Well you have a choice- 1.   Trade Manziel and keep Collaros
                                                 or
                                   2.  Get rid of Collaros and keep Maziel.

These are the only choices.Because it seems that Jones whats Masoli plus one of the above.

Doesn't Collaros look alot better now!

Absolutely agree with you but like has been said before, Cats cant afford both Masoli and Collaros if Masoli demands big $.  Maybe they’ll both take a “shave” for sake of team!

Both like Jones and if Jones promises Masoli a starting job, he will stay at a moderate starting pay.
And Collaros maybe told by Austin that he can have his agent search around for a better deal for
him and that Austin would match or beat any deal that is offered him by another team.
I think that because Collaros hasn't played much last year and when he did play they were all
loses, that Austin thinks that the other teams will not offer Collaros that much and he should be
able to counter offer them still with a big savings from his original deal.
He will also tell Collaros that Masoli will start, but he will see much more action than last year
under Jones.
I think Collaros will take the better money(than other teams offer) and wait for his chance to start.

I think the damage is done and Zach wants to leave this organization for the way he's been treated by the team and the fans (rightfully so or not) and go somewhere else to prove his point back to Austin, Jones, and everybody that doubts him.

Collaros is smart. He would happily stay here and earn $540K next season. This decision is in the teams hands and not his. Ticats will make a move before his bonus is due in February. Trade or cut.

I think all comments about Collaros and his future assume that the team isn't going to pay him this money. Your comment is a given. The team absolutely does have a decision to make, but remember they probably won't be able to trade him if he flat out refuses to take a pay cut from anybody.
At that point he would likely be released outright and then he holds all the cards.

It is in Zach's best interest to stay the perfect pro and hope that someone will trade for him and his salary. Otherwise his bank account takes a hit.

The kicker is the bonus. It would be nothing for a team to trade for him as their preferred starting QB and have him battle it out at training camp proving he is close to back to his all star level of play. If Zach were to prove to be not starting caliber he could be cut. But with this Feb bonus looming that is not an option for teams trading for him. If he is traded for he will be anointed as starting QB for the acquiring team.
it might come back to haunt the Cats having negotiated this bonus into his contract.

Bottom Line:   On Feb 2/2018 if Collaros is still a Tigercat, kiss goodbye to Masoli.
                          --------------
Maybe Austin thinks that Collaros and Manzeil is all he needs.

Also if Manzeil is hired before Free Agency, also kiss goodbye to Masoli.because Masoli
dosn't want to play second fiddle to Manzeil. (read my opening post on this thread)

It should all come out in the wash!

It should all come out in the wash!
If/When Ambrosie okays Manziel to play in the CFL, Which has now been delayed to January.
The TiCats will have 10 days to offer Manziel a minimum or higher 1+1 contract.
If Manziel refuses the Contract he must sit out 1 full year before getting on another neg list.
The Manziel saga should be addressed well before Feb.

GOOD!  Than we can kiss goodbye to Masoli sooner.
