If you were Masoli, would you rather stay in a dumpster fire that reluctantly played you for 5 years even though you bailed them out every time when they were desperate and stay with them as they spend all their off field resources on signing Johnny Manziel after you lit up the last 10 games?  As well as them having a guy already tied up with starter dollars or battle Shiltz for the starting job and make Collaros money in Montreal... or even better, move closer to home in B.C... -where they remember him beating the Lions on the last play of the game? Mahalo!

All the players love him, the coach loves him,  but management gives him the Rodney Dangerfield treatment.  He has the personality, talent and confidence to outlast this circus but he may choose not to bother - what is the upside - ?

You are awesome Jeremiah, but Johnny has a great college reel (you did too but it's not in HD) and you had a great work out in Buffalo in a high school gym, blew us away, Shawn Burk was guarding Drew Allemang, and Johnny hit him everytime - it was amazing! Made Kent Austin look awful in the 3 on 3 scrimmage! Welcome to town Johnny, here's your $53,000 don't spend it all at Koi and Sizzle on the first night.

Hey Jeremiah, say hi to Coach Reinbold out there, maybe you will get some special teams help and good field position for once out there like Collaros used to when he lit it up here.

Happy New Year!  (Welcome back Kevin, you will look great backing up Manziel and Dan Lefevre)
Cant wait for your shocked routine when they announce Masoli's signing...
Let's hope they sign him and thanks for throwing in a derogatory comment, it adds nothing to the conversation as usual.  Why do you have to throw in a personal cheap shot at me?  I'm just having fun on here and certain guys continue to feel necessary to say things that are personal against the poster...it's just a conversation, if you don't agree, just state your opinion don't give me a rabbit punch in the nuts.  Come up with something more clever than that for once.
Sorry if you see that as derogatory... You've said multiple times that you don't think Masoli is coming back... Yet you're his biggest fan.

So naturally when he signs (and lets be honest the majority of people here believe he's going to sign before he sees free agency) naturally you're going to say something along the lines of:

"wow.... I never thought he would want to come back here after the way he's been cast aside for Johnny football"

In all honesty I think you know he's likely coming back... There's even the possibility he's already been signed.
It's all about the money and right now until something is done with Collaros, they don't have the money to sign Masoli to what I feel someone will offer him based on his play in the last 10 games last year.  Then throw the Manziel love on top and I believe it is 50/50 at best Masoli comes back.  The way it has gone last year until Jones used some common sense why wouldn't a person be cynical.  The whole Manziel thing throws a bit of a wrench in the whole carry on and build on where we left on from last year 6-4 love in with this team that Jones helped create.  It's just opinion and conversation, please don't rip me again personally.  As of right this minute, I think there is a good chance that we may end up with Manziel to keep Jones happy and Collaros as insurance or as the starter again.  All the Johnny Football hype to cover up losing Masoli??  I don't put anything past this management group.  At least it is some good chatter to get the blood boiling again on a cold December night amongst the faithful here!

They have 2 quality guys here already zero baggage and have played the game at high level.  They will most likely lose both for nothing in the end for a guy with character issues and a huge question mark if he can play the game at the pro level.

I really question this teams thinking
They have ONE guy with zero baggage.

Masoli has been arrested and entered guilty pleas in two different matters. But, feel free to turn a blind eye to fit your agenda.
Burglary and possession... Funny the double standard surrounding charges. Im willing to bet less than 5% of people that took such a high ground on Briles and now Manziel know about these charges.
Yes him another teamate stole some laptops from the school library and tried to sell them, at least he was in the School Library...no gang rape,or girlfriend beating or just generally being a d*ck. I think he just plead guilty to get it over with quickly.  Not condoning it but he has obviously matured.  Didn't run or deny.

2 convictions.... Wonder what im going to tell my kids if they want a Masoli jersey one day.

You would have to think their us a lot of Manziel hype from Jones, Austin and the media. Either Jones and Austin are  building  Manziel up for trade value or they are willing to let him learn the game behind Masoli. Golson and Collaros are both gone. The dark horse in this entire scenario is Dane Evans, another June Jones recruit and possibly another quarterback from either the possible Collaros or Manziel trade. Either way this shakes out the Tiger Cats are on the clock and we will know much more about the quarterback situation by the end of next week. There could be some surprises .....

I don't get why people think that media coverage or grandiose statements improve a player's trade value.  If only it were that simple.

Is another team's GM really going to pay more because of a few headlines, as opposed to scouting reports, game film and other traditional methods of player evaluation?

As for whether it improves ticket sales - well, that's a totally different question.  I still have my doubts, but you never know what might influence fans' decisions.

Even Zach has had run-in's with the law, albeit using a fake ID whilst underage.

This is minor in the grand scheme of things, but it should be added to the pile of youthful stupidity.

As a pro, Zach (as well as Jeremiah) have shown growth and maturity.  I only submit this to show that second chances isn't just a cliche, but a real life occurrence in life and in football.

Maybe?

Careful.  You are conflating the Art Briles knowing of gang rape crimes amongst his players (which he was never charged nor convicted of) to that of the charges against Manziel.

Next season will be Masoli as starting QB with Manziel learning and nipping at his heels.  This breeds competition which has long been a staple of football.  No position is secure.  And with this I am fine.

Rocket Ismail increased ticket sales for the Argos.  Manziel should have an effect as well.

He has increased my interest.

Mark's age poll shows that those that frequent the forum are just a pathetically small sample size.

Expect the young kid next to you cheering Manziel on.

If Collaros is traded or let go, I will be cheering on Manziel, and I am in my 70's.

I always cheer for the Ticats. Masoli, Collaros, Manziel, Golson, or Evans. Whoever they play at QB, I'm in.

Great post and while it seems so simple things have gotten so bad in Ticats land some people would rather be right and have the team lose so as long as their guy plays well (or poorly) or their opinion is right.

Sometimes you just gotta remember why you spent all that money on season tickets in the first place!

I've said this several times, it seems like people would rather be right and have said player fail and ticats do bad for the sake of "I told you so".

It would be really stupid to the Tiger Cats trade him. This guy could win a Grey Cup
