The Edmonton Eskimos will hold their 2018 mini camp at Bill ‘Wildcat’ Morris Rebel Park (UNLV Practice Football Field) in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 21 to April 24, 2018. Six days after the min-camp, on April 30th, the Eskies need to reduce their roster to 75 player contracts. The 75 does not count draft picks that will be selected on May 3rd and if signed will be added as "non-counters" to the training camp roster.

The Esks current off-season roster have 83 players under contract, meaning that from now until April 30th the Eskimos need to shed 8 players. Who’s on the bubble to be among the 8 going into and through mini-camp on into main training camp for the Eskies?

QB Danny O'Brien – Has not proven he is a QB2 in four CFL seasons, but is a hedge bet at QB.
QB Zach Kline – Needs to prove he is pro worthy at mini-camp but needs O’Brien to falter.
DE Kalonji Kashama – A rookie national pro who needs Mark Mackie to fail to take the next step.
WLB Doug Parrish – Two-year national pro who must show he can be a solid defensive backup.
DB Nick Taylor – Lots of secondary international competition and he must prove he belongs.
SB/KR AJ Cruz – It’s time for Cruz to prove he is a pro level kick returner.

CB Josh Woodman – Has to prove he can be trusted as a back-up national CB and special teamer.
FB Calvin McCarty – Too many younger Fullbacks and he must prove he can still get it done.
SB/KR Jamill Smith – Needs to comeback from a dropped punt late in the Western Final, can he?

RB/KR Korliss Marshall –  Too many running backs and kick returners means he must impress now.
SB Natey Adjei –  A very talented, but undersized player who is locked in as a special teamer.
SLB Chris Edwards –  Talented but didn’t break through when given the opportunity last season.

OT Kwabena Asare – A project that must show progression to get another season of development.
OT Simeon Rottier – Injuries have slowed the once all-star left guard. Can he comeback?
RB/KR LaDarius Perkins – Too many running backs and kick returners. He failed to impress last season when he received an opportunity. Must show he could be the backup and kick returner
