Wow! I haven't seen prices that low in decades. I hope they fill the place.

67% of those that participated in our recent Twitter Poll say that the #BCLions new ticket deals will entice them to either buy ST's or checkout the Lions this season. #CFL

PTBO Dave

Hope it brings in the people, especially families with kids. Since they closed off the upper section, they haven't been able to entice people back in the same numbers.

Very happy to hear this.

The league hurt the market with all the new rule changes and coaches' challenges resulted in four hour games.

Next step hopefully they get rid of coaches' challenges completely. The CFL should be a fan league, not a coaches' or general managers' league.

Seems like new Lions president Rick LeLacheur is making his mark early on.

In simple terms, the law of supply and demand is at the root and I'm glad Braley is letting him implement this. Need to entice people to come out and if they feel there's good value for money, then they'll come back and hopefully in time commit.

This is a start but they'll need to follow this up with a good game experience and great customer service along the way...same as the Argos after reducing their prices.

It was frustrating watching teams like this stick under estimated the market stuck with a higher price point than the market will bear, watch the crowds dwindle and not do anything to entice it...much like the Sulksky era it seemed.

rshmglsky, not sure I agree entirely with that first sentence but I have to admit that I'm on the side of getting rid of coaches' challenges completely albeit if it's ok in any of the major leagues and that isn't deterring attendance, then why would this be a deterrent in the CFL?  Trying to think through your logic here.

To me, it's just about making the games more entertaining. I remember a lot of fans saying they would never go to another Lions' game again. The CFL doesn't have the "in" factor or whatever you want to call it that the NHL has. So the CFL has to do better to keep the casual fan engaged. I'm glad the CFL is doing better, but you don't want to give the casual fan a reason not to go to games, even if the tickets were free.

Are you suggesting they let the fans decide calls? Maybe they could have a voting system whereby fans log in to a website with their phone and vote on how calls should be made based on video replay on the big screen.

Well rsh, not sure what to say about the "in" factor, certainly a team like the Leafs can put a bad product on the ice like they have done for some number of years and yet still a waiting list for seasons tickets.  But there have been teams in the major leagues that have problems with being "in", like the Expos for example at one time and the Cleveland NHL team as another example, that didn't last.  I think Buffalo had an NBA team,, some cities have lost NHL teams etc.   I just don't think it's a CFL thing necessarily and it's not always strictly about attendance either.  I do think football is a sport in Canada that is facing some tough times for people to feel they know the sport like yesteryear as sports like basketball and soccer have become very popular with youth in the last while while football participation has been decreasing at the high school level in some areas in Canada.

To make CFL stadiums "the place to be" in all CFL cities is a challenge for sure especially in the large markets that have so many other entertainment options.  It's tough.

Iā€™m very happy to see this. BC Place is such a massive venue surrounded by such a huge amount of people - with one major problem: the multicultural population base is NOT connected to the CFL in the same way other CFL markets are. So get them interested via cheap ticket prices and build the fan base. I like it.

White stallion gallops

Back in the late 1990's then Stampeder owner Sig Guetshe offered season tickets in the entire stadium (save for the red seats) for $100.00. The season ticket base sky rocketed to over 30,000
